I’d say “too soon” but it’s 20 years ago…
So, I was trying to sleep when a thought struck…
Nott is canonically unhappy with her appearance. There are fan theories that her end-goal with Caleb is to gain access to True Polymorph and get changed into a halfling. There’s further theories that perhaps she originally was a halfling, and has somehow been changed into a goblin which is the cause of her discomfort in her own skin. However, from her accounts of life among the other goblins, there’s nothing to suggest that any of them might have had anything approaching that level of magic.
But what about the local halflings that the goblins were preying upon? They could have had access to greater levels of magic, and obviously suffered casualties in their engagements. What if one of them was a druid, and that druid cast Reincarnate on a fallen comrade, only for them to be restored to life in a goblinoid body?
